Pasco County, Florida — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding a home invasion and spotted the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Chase Johnson, driving north on Ryals Road.

No emergency lights were activated, but Johnson saw the deputies, accelerated and struck the side of a sheriff's office vehicle.

After deputies called for backup, several units responded and set up stop sticks nearby.

Johnson's vehicle was eventually disabled near State Road 54 and Golf Links Blvd. That's when, deputies say he brandished a gun and began shooting at them from the driver's side window. A deputy tried to stop him by ramming his patrol car into Johnson's vehicle several times.

Deputies said Johnson began driving erratically to Eiland Blvd., then ran of the roadway and into a pond.

Johnson, who had already been wanted for violating his probation, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted felony murder/homicide, robbery home invasion with a firearm or deadly weapon, flee/attempt to elude a police officer.

He's being held at the Pasco County Jail on a $411,013 bond.
