From my own experience of training, observations made with other gym goers, along with the thousands of of hours spent training my clients on a 1 on 1 basis, I've noticed a number of common mistakes made when it comes to training abs.

Key Points:

- Learn to effectively contract the abdominal muscles
- Master your breathing (exhale on the concentric phase)
- Maximise tension placed on your core (don't let other muscle groups do the work)
- Minimise momentum
- Keep your neck in line with your spine
- Quality reps over quantity
